Namibi Desert!

This desert is seen in Namibia and is very large. The name namib is nama for enormous! It occupies an area of 50000m² and it stretches 1600Km along the coast of the Atlantic ocean. From east to west it is about 50-160Km long.

It is considered to be one of the oldest deserts in the world because it is about 80,000,000 years old.

There is also a lot of unusual plants and animals in the desert like the Welwitschia which is a very unusual plant because it only has two long strap-shaped leaves in its whole life!

the desert is largely unpopulated and it has very big sand dunes all over its self.

Sometimes there is a lot of fog and it could be very hard to see and because it is on a coastline sometimes it makes boats lose their way. This makes the desert a sight for ship wrecks.
